Lit'l Bit of Heaven PUPPIES

Lit'l Bit of Heaven PUPPIES all started in 1983 in Cypress, TX for Patsi Whatley with the purchase of, a dark salt-n-pepper Schnauzer called Lit'l Bit, due to her size. Within a year and half of having Dillon, my very first Schnauzer and then with our new addition Lit'l Bit, I have to
admit I knew then I had been bitten by the “Schnauzer Bug”. I began to look for a perfect stud for Lit'l Bit by the time she was a year and half old, and all the rest is our history of Lit'l Bit of Heaven PUPPIES. With being single and my kids were all leaving home, my life then became all about my canine family. My boys say..”Mama went to the dogs a long time ago”!

I am quick to say that although some people think of any puppy raising/breeding operation as a “puppy mill”, I feel our operation is far from that. Our facilities and procedures are regularly checked and approved by American Kennel Club and it is obvious to all who have gotten to know me, can see what I do is all with love and devotion. My birthing practices are a bit different than other breeders I have been told. Normally other breeders do not have birthing of litters of puppies in their own king-size bed.. All litters born here in Dime Box are born on my bed with me in attendance. “Hands on” with the birthing is the only way I know! I certainly do not want anything to happen to my Mamas and of course want a healthy start for all puppies. I have been told by families that already had a canine family member and then purchased one of ours they seem to think my breeding practices, starting with where they are born to introducing them immediately with all of the household noises, the radio, laughing people and grandchildren, and being handled immediately with human hands differently makes for a well socialized puppy. And I have to agree they are RIGHT!

In 2004 I made the decision to fulfill my lifetime dream, becoming a full time breeder. I bought a small home in Dime Box, TX which soon went to “the dogs”, and I purchased a four bedroom mobile home for myself and made the little house I lived in into the Bungalow for all the mamas and their babies, and kitchen into my grooming area. My life was Schnauzers, and for many years raised only Schnauzers until about 2009, at the urging of many breeder friends I expanded to other small breeds. So now my canine family consists of Schnauzers, Yorkies, Maltese, Shih-Tzu, Toy/Mini Poodles, Pomeranians, and Chihuahuas, and all the new designer breeds.

In March-April and September-October since 2003 I can be found in Warrenton Round Top Texas for Antique Week for show and sale of our puppies. Families come back year after year to share stories of the puppy that they purchased, and some have ended up with several from
Lit'l Bit of Heaven PUPPIES. People can see me beam as I receive “doggie kisses” and listen as families tell other people that are holding and playing with the puppies how pleased they are with the puppy that was purchased from Lit'l Bit of Heaven. Each family in their own way states they never realized that “that purchase” could fill their life with such joy and memories!
